Fitness is simply the ability to take action under situational, immediate and/or lasting physical and mental stress effectively without significant need for recovery. This stress can be great, for example falling out of a boat 400 meters from dry land and needing to swim to shore to save your life or it can be small, for example being faced with a broken elevator and having to climb 15 flights of stairs without experiencing muscle cramps, extreme fatigue or severe loss of breath. Joining a gym can aid in increasing your readiness but it is not required. Supplementation can aid in increasing your readiness but it is not required. Weight loss can aid in increasing your readiness but it is not required. There are many paths to readiness but the foundation should always be grounded in science and therefore truth.
